A lower 20mph speed limit could be introduced on part of the main road running through Menston.
Councillor Chris Greaves (Con, Wharfedale) said Bradford Council had prepared plans for a scheme on Main Street that would use speed tables and drop the speed limit to 20mph outside Menston School.
Coun Greaves (pictured) was replying to a question raised at Menston Forum about the possibility of lowering the limit on the whole of Main Street to stop cars speeding through the centre of the village.
He said: “There are already plans that have been drawn up to have a couple of speed tables and to drop the section of the road in front of the school down to 20mph.
