Menston actor Sam Riley is following in the footsteps of screen legend Richard Attenborough in a remake of the British classic Brighton Rock.
Sam, who shot to fame playing Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in the film Control, has taken on the role of Pinkie Brown – a razor-wielding hoodlum let loose in Brighton in the mid 1960s.
The new version is based on the novel by Graham Greene but is set in the mid 60s mods vs rockers era as opposed to the 1930s setting of the book.
Sam, 29, whose parents live in Menston, won critical acclaim for his portrayal of Ian Curtis in the film Control.
