Naomi Warrenberg, 15, of the 1st Ilkley Guide Unit, is one of only 14 girls chosen to represent Girlguiding UK on a centenary trip to Lapland.
The visit will take place during the Easter holidays in 2010, the year when girls all over the world will celebrate 100 years of Guiding.
Naomi said: “I will gain new experiences and friends and hope to find out about a foreign country which is different from everything I have experienced.
“I will be given the opportunity to learn about Lapp culture and to handle huskies on a reindeer safari. This will be my first visit abroad without my parents so I will gain independence in the company of girls my own age.”
Naomi has to raise £1,500 and plans to do odd jobs for neighbours and wash cars. She is pictured getting in practice.
